THE LOSS OF FIRST LOVE

Image
Revelation 2 v 4 and 5: "I know your conduct, the pain you take and your perseverance. I know you can't stand the bad guys: you've put to the test those who claim to be apostles and who are naretos, and you've noticed that they're lying. You have perseverance, you have suffered because of me and you have not got enough. However, I have one complaint to make you: you have given up the love you had at the beginning. Will! Remember where you fell from! Change and go back to your first line! If not, I will come to you, and I will take your candlestick out of its place if you don't change." At the beginning of spiritual life, we are "in love" with the Lord, but over time, we may attract ourselves, what a pity!   The loss of first love affects relationships: With God, with the church, with the family. Why do we lose our first love? This may be the consequence of: Disobedience - No longer reading the Bible - Do not pray - Do not testify - Do n...

My testimony

Image
A lthough I am French I was born in Baden-Baden, Germany. I spent a good part of my childhood in Africa, especially in Cameroon and Togo. I was raised in a traditional Catholic family: mass every Sunday, catechism, sacraments... When my family moved back to France I lost all interest in religion because one of my friends, an atheist, made fun of me. I stopped going to church. After all, I reasoned, I never had understood what the priest was saying.   I am with Michel, our driver in Douala (Cameroon) I apprenticed as a cabinetmaker and worked at that profession until it was time for military service. In 1968 while in the French army I made some friends who were into studying philosophy. They asked questions that I had never thought about: Why am I here? Where did I come from? Why are men wicked? Why is there suffering? Where do you go after you die? I began reading books by existentialists who encourage people to ask questions (a good thing) but never offer answer...

Who controls the kingdoms of this world?

Image
by  Russell Grigg   The Gospel of Luke describes one of the temptations of Jesus by Satan in the following words: And the devil took him up and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time, and said to him, ‘To you I will give all this authority and their glory, for it has been delivered to me, and I give it to whom I will. If you, then, will worship me, it will all be yours.’ And Jesus answered him, ‘It is written, “You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve”’ ( Luke 4:5–8 ). God’s relationship to Adam was, in effect, that of Supreme Commander (God) to Executive Officer (Adam). Seeing that Jesus described Satan as “ a liar and the father of lies ” ( John 8:44 ), was this a legitimate claim by Satan that he controls all the authority and glory of all the kingdoms of the world and gives it to whom he will? If so, who delivered all this to him? The answers are found in Genesis. Adam’s God-given role When God created the w...

Do You Believe that Evolution is True?

If so, then provide an answer to the following questions. "Evolution" in this context is the idea that natural, undirected processes are sufficient to account for the existence of all natural things.    1. Something from nothing?       The "Big Bang", the most widely accepted theory of the beginning of the universe, states that everything developed from a small dense cloud of subatomic particles and radiation which exploded, forming hydrogen (and some helium) gas. Where did this energy/matter come from? How reasonable is it to assume it came into being from nothing? And even if it did come into being, what would cause it to explode? We know from common experience that explosions are destructive and lead to disorder. How reasonable is it to assume that a "big bang" explosion produced the opposite effect - increasing "information", order and the formation of useful structures, such as stars and planets, and eventually people?    2. Physical laws a...

Creation

Image
CREATION according to GENESE Chapter 1   Verse 1: "In the beginning" ... Simultaneous creation of time (which thus has a beginning), of space (the heavens), and of the earth. Time, space, and matter are created at the same time. There is an author-creator-architect, God (HELOHIM) in the plural. The verb create (BARA: making something out of nothingness) is singular, so there is a plurality in divine unity. (John 1 v 1 to 3). There is no "Big Bang" see the article on this subject. v 2: Sphere covered with water, uninhabited and plunged into darkness, but the Spirit of God is present. v 3 to 5: The light is manifested. First evening and morning, and start of the day-night cycle. DAY ONE. v 6 to 8: Creation of the atmosphere that separates the primitive ocean and the layer of steam that envelops the earth like a greenhouse (This will fall to the earth during the flood: ge7-11-12). DAY 2. v 9-10: Appearance of the primordial continent from the single ocean. v 11 to l3...
